Dartmoor Showcase Day Confirmed for Wednesday May 12th

All are welcome to The Dartmoor Partnership's 5th annual Dartmoor Showcase Day at The Two Bridges Hotel on Wednesday 12 May from 11am-3pm.

The Showcase Day is an opportunity for you to find out what is really happening on Dartmoor. With over 50 exhibitors ranging from activity providers, local food producers, attractions and business support, this is a great chance for local business people to make contacts and gain useful advice. The Dartmoor Farmers Association will provide complimentary beef burgers with delicious slow-grown, native-breed Dartmoor beef. In addition to all the stands and local food, there will also be a programme of events throughout the day.

Programme of Events

11am - Opening address by Cllr James McInnes, Borough & County Councillor & member of Dartmoor National Park Authority.

The Changing Political Climate
James will talk about the implications of the changing political climate, the importance of partnerships and working together.

12pm - David Podd, Area Manager, Devon Local Business Team, Barclays Bank

Running and Growing a Local Business
David will give his top 10 tips for running and growing a local business based on his experience and understanding of the local business world. He will also give an update on the current banking climate and take questions on business banking in general.

1pm - Michael Youlden, South Hams and West Devon Crime Prevention Officer

Moor crime
Mike will talk about the South Devon and Dartmoor Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership and its Moor Watch project. His presentation will emphasise what can be achieved by working in partnership, and explain the community messaging system.

2pm - Jess Whistance, Dartmoor Partnership

Your Dartmoor Partnership
Jess will be providing an insight into the projects and activity of the Dartmoor Partnership over the last year. She will be highlighting the role of the partnership in promoting Dartmoor and its significant role in supporting local businesses. Jess will also be speaking about the way forward for the Partnership and its members.
