The Cottage Magazine Celebrates it's 100th Edition

Tue 28 Sep 2010

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who have supported the Cottage Magazine over the years. We hope you're enjoying the new look magazine - we're set to continue with the colour version, so thanks to those who have given such positive feedback.

The Cottage Magazine was the birth child of Bovey Tracey Cottage book shop owner, and Lustleigh Resident Nick Harman. Initially the Cottage started as a small leaflet designed to promote the Cottage Book Shop.

The first edition in Early 1994 was delivered to homes in and around the Bovey Tracey Area. It was a small publication with a minimal number of advertisements and editorial that gave people the opportunity to promote local issues and businesses.

Although sometimes controversial due to the strong views of Nick Harman the Cottage grew and grew from the first edition and has build up a reputation as a respected and informative local tool.

It has since evolved into a 20 page bi-monthly magazine that is delivered by your postman to over 6,500 properties in Bovey Tracey, Moretonhampstead, Chagford and surrounding villages of TQ13 6, 8 & 9.

Nick Harman passed away in February 2006, the family now run the Cottage and hope to continue the good work.
