The brilliant Bovey Tracey Heritage Trust has reached a decade at its’ home in the Old Railway Station, when it opened for the new season on Saturday 5th April.

Since opening 10 years ago it has gone from strength to strength. Back in 2010 the Trust were able to acquire a brakevan which houses an excellent model of the Moretonhampstead railway station. A vision, which the late Nick Harman, one of the founder members held, has come to fruition.

This year the main exhibition will focus on WW1 exhibits and photographs, alongside other well presented local history, artifacts and paintings.

Keep a look out for special events throughout the year to celebrate our decade.

Many more volunteers have come forward to help and run the Centre and last year we were able to open every day from 10am – 4pm and on Saturday mornings from 10am – 12noon.

We welcome visits from schools and private parties. Refreshments can be provided for day or evening bookings.

Guided walks take place on certain days along the Heritage Trail. These do not need booking, just turn up.

There is free admission and a car park at the Centre. Anyone wishing to join our team of volunteers or to find out more, please phone the Secretary Margaret Wright on 01626 834331.
