House of Marbles Fashion
Sun 1 May 2011
The House of Marbles have held their first fashion show. 100 guests attended the show and were delighted to receive a generous
goody bag containing amongst other items jewellery and key rings upon arrival. Bovey Tracey Mayor, Avril Kerswell, warmly
welcomed guests and opened the show. The
aim of the fashion show was to highlight the new spring summer collection of
clothes from the design labels Adini and Amari together with the new range of
accessories including One Button jewellery and Owen Barry handbags available at
House of Marbles.
Thanks to
local advertising together with word of mouth free tickets were quickly snapped
up. Vicki Harvey, Merchandising Manager,
comments “Local people do not initially associate us with selling clothes, we
are so well known for toys and marbles.
The fashion show allowed us to remind and inform people we are here all
year round with a modern selection of clothes and quality gifts.”
The models
were all local ladies ranging in age from 18 to 70 to show a true
representation of fashion for all. Local
Bovey Tracey hairdressers, Timothy John added the finishing touch by styling
the models hair and found time to showcase their own hair models.
After the
show customers got the chance to buy discounted clothes whilst sampling House
of Marbles head chef’s canapés complimented with a glass of wine. The evening came to an end with a charity
raffle held in support of Motor Neurone Disease.
The event was
so well received and through popular demand the next date has been booked for
Wednesday 14th September when two catwalk shows will be held in one
night.
